THE RETREAT
The Inter Astra Retreat (IAR) is an exclusive three-day leadership symposium for the Business of Space, convening the next generation of scientists, entrepreneurs, and creatives alongside leading space experts to open a new chapter for discovery, partnership, and collaboration. The retreat explores nontraditional verticals and accelerates exploratory dialogue, generating forward-thinking solutions and introducing unique partnerships and new alliances.
Set in the intimate venue of the Salamander Resort & Spa in Middleburg Virginia, IAR participants interact in small 12-15 person groups and engage in candid, at times provocative dialogue related to the Business of Space. Curated sessions, experiential activities, and interactive events foster lively dialogue and engagement, ultimately resulting in the clear articulation of friction areas to overcome as well as actionable takeaways in the evolving Spacescape.

OUR ETHOS
The motivating force behind IAR is the belief that authentic conversations create impact. Topics and discussion groups are carefully crafted based on the interests and expertise of participants.
Space exploration – as well as its supporting industries – has historically been confined to state-funded endeavors. We have entered an era where doors are quickly opening for new players to engage in the Business of Space. At the same time, meetings and conferences dedicated to this rapidly evolving landscape remain stale echo-chambers, repackaging dogmatic principles and approaches.
To date, our collective approach to the Spacescape has been limited by the traditional thinking of the established narrative, hindering progress and innovation. Inter Astra is focused on shifting this narrative by leveraging recent scientific and technological developments and championing the creativity of nontraditional, often marginalized players in the Spacescape.
We are at the juncture of a game-changing opportunity: to bring independent, future-oriented parties together as new participants and leaders shaping the Business of Space at the second annual Inter Astra Retreat.
